Afternoon Power Workshops:
How Women Get Seen, Heard and Respected at Work
Too frequently capable, competent, high-value women miss out on workplace promotion. One key reason for lack of promotion: decision-makers don’t personally witness these women adding value to their organizations, and these decision-makers don’t want to take risks on someone they don’t know. Communications strategist and author Sam Horn will offer six ways to contribute during meetings so decision-makers witness strong women demonstrating their LeadHership abilities by adding value to the organization.
Smart Strategies for a Successful Retirement
In 2016, GoBankingRates surveyed 1,504 adults over age 55 and found more than half lacked sufficient retirement funds. About 30 percent of respondents said they have no retirement savings, while 26 percent reported less than $50,000 saved. Christina Tunison, associate at Signature Estate & Investment Advisors, will define some common saving pitfalls women face and identify strategies to plan for a retirement that’s financially secure.
