April 22, 2022 - NDIA ROTC Awards Banquet

Gerhard and CSM Jerry Charles represented the AoD Chapter at the NDIA ROTC Awards Banquet on Friday, 22 April at the Troy Marriott. The CSM inspected our AUSA saber, handed it off to Gerhard, who then presented it to Cadet Grace VanArandonk from Western Michigan University. Gerhard also gave some other AUSA awards to additional cadets.  Another Chapter member, MG Darren Werner was the keynote speaker.

November 13, 2021 - Celebrate Michigan' s Military
The seventh Celebrate Michigan’s Military was held on November 13
th. The Arsenal of Democracy Chapter was a valued Partner and was also a financial Sponsor. Together with other Partners and Sponsors, over $210,000 was raised for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.  Because of these valued partnerships, Guardian Angels will be able to raise and train 8 service dogs. These dogs will help Veterans with a variety of issues including PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety and panic attacks along with many other problems that affect their lives.

November 6, 2021 - Top ARNG Recruiter Award Presentation

Who: Ltc. (R) Chuck Cogger, Sgt. Maxwell Neubauer, MG Paul Rogers, DMVA Leadership. Ltc. Alex Garn (MIARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion Commander)
What: Presentation of the Top ARNG Michigan Recruiter Award
Where: Michigan Military and Veterans Gala, Selfridge Air National Guard Base
When: 6 November 2021, 1800-UTC
Why: Honor and recognize excellence in Recruiting for the MI ARNG. 

Chuck presented the award to Sgt. Maxwell Neubauer who was selected for his accomplishments in recruiting within the state of Michigan. SGT Neubauer secured 19 enlistments over the past fiscal year and competed in multiple boards to be selected and represent the MIARNG Recruiting Battalion in the Directors 54 national competition. Sgt. Neubauer’s efforts are exemplary and represent the finisher of recruiters within the state of Michigan.

April 13, 2021 - Saber Award
On Tuesday, 13 April AoD Chapter Director of ROTC and Army Recruting, LTC (Ret) Chuck Cogger, presented an Army officers saber to Cadet Caleb Goodell at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Cadet Goodell is the 2021 recipient of the coveted Arsenal of Democracy Chapter Saber Award given to the board selected most outsanding cadet from nominees at all seven Michigan Universities. Chuck was able to provide some officer professional mentorship and emphasized the benefits of AUSA membership.  Chuck also met with the Professor of Military Science, LTC Brandon Tennimon.
